P ortions of this set of reminders have appeared in the Internet, as part of a chain letter called “What Happens in Heaven” or variations thereof. This writer has removed the chain-letter portion and edited the presentation.
If you can wake up in the morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than the many who will not even survive the day.
If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep you are more-fortunate than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet and spare change in your pocket, you are among the top 8% of the world's population that is considered wealthy (but not filthy rich).
And if you are reading this message on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world that has online capability.
If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture or the pangs of starvation, you are ahead of a billion or more people in the world that live in war or in prison or are being tortured and/or starving.
If you can attend a church without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death you are envied by, and more blessed than, three-billion people in the world!
If your parents are still alive and still married, you are very rare, as more-than half the marriages now end up in divorce or annulment.
If you can hold your head up and smile, you're unique, as countless people are living in doubt and/or despair.
If you can read this message, you are more blessed than more-than two-billion people in the world who cannot read at all.
If the MabuhayRadio.com editor may add, if you live with children, especially grandchildren, and enjoy their company, you are more-blessed than the tens of millions of families that have terminated the lives of the unborn in the guise of legal abortion.
And the MabuhayRadio.com staff members say that if you can sleep tonight without the use of sleeping pills or sedatives, your are luckier and more-blessed than countless movie personalities, celebrities and/or high-government officials—especially the despots who are corrupt and/or committed human-rights violations or extra-judicial killings—who cannot close their eyes and rest without popping pills into their mouth or injecting their veins with illegal or prescription drugs.
Then finally, thank your God before you sleep of the blessed life that the Almighty has given you . . . at least until today and pray that your life remains blessed tomorrow and the days to follow. # # #
