A do Paglinawan, a Washington, DC-based activist of a writer, sent the following reply to Batasmauricio’s posting in the Filam-Forum@yahoogroups.com. The commentary of Mr. Batasmauricio is also reproduced at the end of this article.
This is not a coincidence. The return of Jocjoc Bolante is precisely to rekindle the fundraising mafia that staged the stealing of the 2004 election, with Arthur Yap his lapdog at his side.
The chief architect of Ferdinand Marcos' martial law and the chief architect of the fertilizer scam join forces to ensure the perpetuity of the Arroyo kleptocracy. There is no doubt in my mind that Arroyo's machine politics will again be out to snuffle our liberties right before our very eyes.
This is an awry signal for Philippine democracy that has gone banana since 2001 when the First Kotong assumed power. Today as we speak, we are the 5th hungriest nation and one of the most corrupt (countries) in the world. Our economy runs only on the remittances of Overseas Filipinos and foreign loans. Instead of government coffers used for production, it serves as petty cash of the ruling class.
The Lord allows this because the Filipino people have been sleeping on their rights and allowing sin and corruption to permeate around them at all levels. We claim to be the only Christian nation in Asia, but we have compromised our faith and refuse to follow the gospel beyond Sunday compliance.
Let us pray as these things happen as we approach the Advent Season. By the way, next week's liturgy is centers on Christ, the King, but more than that, the last judgment.
Now here goes, your' favorite quotation: "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." (2 Chron 7:14).
The true liberation of the Filipino people can come only through Christ Jesus!
The real Edsa Dos is about to come. History is about to repeat itself to give the Filipinos another chance at good governance. I see the evil of dictatorship becoming strong again. But the winnowing of the spirit is greater and the Arroyos will have a worse fate than the Marcoses.
But for the meantime, the people will suffer under them even more than what we have now, because just as gold, their hearts must be purified!
Maranatha! Let us sound the trumpets, gather the prophets and get down on our knees in deep prayer. UNQUOTE.
From: batasmauricio To: Filam-Forum@yahoogroups.com GOD'S PURPOSE IN ENRILE'S NEW POSITION: Newly-installed Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile deserves the support not only of his fellow senators but of our countrymen as well in this crucial point in the history of our country. Whatever one may think as to how Enrile bagged his new position, the fact remains that he could not have done it without God's prior permission and blessings.
