By JOSEPH G. LARIOSA (© Journal Group Link International) C HICAGO (jGLi) – A daughter of one of the victims in the Maguindanao Massacre has expressed alarm that her mother is reportedly being offered 3-million pesos (US$66,666.00) in exchange of her silence in the multiple-murder charges being leveled against the accused being heard by a court in Manila in the Philippines. A frantic e-mail sent around the world to her friends by the daughter of Alejandro “Bong” Reblando, reporter of the Manila Bulletin, said her mother, Myrna P. Reblando, got information that if she did not accept the 3-million pesos, “the money will be used for the bounty for the head of my mom.” She said her mom got the chilling information after she joined others in filing a complaint before the Court of Appeals in The Roque & Butuyan Law Offices, which is handling the private prosecution of the Maguindanao Massacre cases, told her mom the filing of the complaint before the Court of Appeals will surely make the Ampatuan get more “mad and more furious because of their actions.” She said her relative, who is a policeman “on my father side,” was also being assigned in Maguindanao, “where there are many supporters of the Ampatuan.” “Please do pray for the safety of my mom, my family and relatives,” the daughter said. “They are finding their way to eliminate my mom.” # # # Editor’s Note: To contact the author, please e-mail him at: (lariosa_jos@sbcglobal.net)
