C HICAGO, Illinois (JGLi) -- The Filipinos of St. Gregory The Great Church in the north side of Chicago, Illinois, led last Saturday a Public Rosary Crusade rally, which among others also prayed for the safety and sickness-free victims of typhoons in the Philippines.

Mandy Ibardaloza, a long-time former president of the lay Catholic group, encouraged his fellow members to attend the noon time prayer despite the dip in the weather.

Father Carlos Llagas of Osamis Oriental and in-charge of a Bible school in Hyde Park in the south side of Chicago, led the prayer rally, which also asked the faithful to pray that “God and His Holy Mother save America through the Holy Rosary, and help it with special graces to fulfill its historic mission.

“To stop the secularist offensive in our society.

“That our leaders honor God’s Law and have the wisdom and strength to solve the nation’s great and complex problems.

“For the urgent triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in America and the world.

“For our enemies. May Our Lady touch their hearts and convert them.

“For those who struggle and hesitate today between virtue and vice. And

“For world peace. The conversion of sinners and repentance of our sins.”

Mr. Ibardoloza’s wife, Gina, and Emil Garcera, during the prayer for the intentions, prayed for the safety and good health of the victims of super typhoons Ondoy (Ketsana) and Pepeng (Parma) in the Philippines. They urged the people to continue sending aids to the victims.

Gina Ibardoloza said, “for the tragic events that happened in the Philippines, may the Lord have mercy on them and help them for their needs."  (lariosa_jos@sbcglobal.net) # # #
