Alumni of the Episcopal Church's Schools in the Philippines Gather in San Diego for a Reunion This Weekend

T he combined reunion of the USA-based alumni of the St. Luke's Hospital College of Nursing, the Trinity University of Asia and the St. Andrew's Theological Seminary will be held this weekend in the Town & Country Hotel & Convention Center, San Diego, California.
 
The Rev. Dr. Winfred B. Vergara is one of the co-organizers of the reunion. He will also be the Inspirational-Talk speaker at the dinner-dance tonight at 7:00 p.m. An ecumenical Mass and picnic will be held in the nearby park tomorrow, Sunday, at 11 a.m. At the dinner-dance event tonight, the organizers will honor very-successful alumni. Monsignor Vergara's office will give an award to a Filipino dentist and inventor and a few other achievers.
 
The St. Luke's, TUA and SATS are three of the major institutions of the Episcopal Church in the Philippines, an American missionary enterprise that began at the advent of American era in the Philippines. Their original vision is ministry to the whole person (body, mind and spirit) and so hospital, campus and church become the embodiment of that vision.
 
Attendance is expected to exceed 350 alumni for the Saturday dinner-dance event and 450 alumni for the Sunday Mass and picnic.
