The Federation of Mindanao Associations in Southern California presented on Nov. 17, 2007, “A Taste of Mindanao” from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The venue was the Cerritos Regional Park Auditorium, 19700 S Bloomfield Avenue, Cerritos, CA 90701 (off Freeway 91). The event was both a culinary experience and a cultural show. The proceeds of the gate at $25 per person will benefit the poor of Mindanao Island, the Philippines.

Mouth-watering dishes and delicacies from the different regions in Mindanao were served. Among them were sinugba, kinilaw, bunta (alima-ngo), binaki, tinapa, lechon and other well-known Mindanao cuisine. Copies of the recipes were provided to the patrons who requested them.
