A Filipino tradition that's happily being practiced in Toronto is the devotion to the Blessed Mother Mary. Yesterday, devotees held their semi-religious procession – Santacruzan it is called in the Philippines – around the streets surrounding the Our Lady of the Assumption Church on Bathurst Street.

 

Here's a video of that event sponsored by the Archdiocesan Filipino Catholic Mission and joined in by 21 young girls (white-robed angels), beauty queens and the Knights of Columbus.
