TONIGHT I CRY WITH TEARS
by
ILVING TABIOS-ZAMORA
Tonight I cry with tears why you left me so suddenly without whispering goodbye Leaving me nothing but the whiff of candles, the embrace of a cold breeze and scents of yellow roses
Tonight I cry with tears recalling images of you and me Wrapped in velvety satins, gasping, our toes curling as we breathed love into each other
I thought I've forgotten you like the songs we sang, like the poems we wrote, like the books we read But why do I remember you in every heart I touch, in every mouth I kiss?
Ah, it is easy to forget, what is hard is not to remember!
How can I not remember walking with you under rosy twilights showering with you on the mists of a rainbow Our first moment alone together and how hesitantly yet eagerly we plunged into the vortex of sweet abandon
How can I not remember the prayers we said, the bonfires we lit, the childish games we played Your lilting gazes, Your lingering touches … giggles, dimples, pinches… The silk and smell and the taste of your hair
Ohhh, the searing warmth of your sweet tender passion!
Goodbye, Beloved, Goodbye if in my eyes you are gone, in my heart you stay forever
You : beautiful as a spring day, haunting like a violin melody
How I loved you!
